How to Store and Protect Your Pokémon Cards

Protect Your Cards from Day One

Condition is a huge part of a card's appeal and value. A few simple habits go a long way.

Sleeve Everything You Care About

Put valuable cards in a soft sleeve right after you pull them. For extra protection, slide the sleeved card into a rigid toploader.

Choose the Right Binder

Look for binders with side-loading pages. They keep cards from sliding out and reduce edge wear. Avoid overstuffing, which can bend cards.

Store Them Smart

  • Keep cards away from humidity, heat, and direct sunlight.
  • Never use rubber bands or tape on cards.
  • Store boxes upright or lay them flat. Don't stack heavy items on top.
  • Handle cards by the edges with clean, dry hands.

Display With Care

Want to show off a favorite? Use a UV-resistant case to limit fading over time.
